Brian LavelleI’ve been reading more of the work of Walter Benjamin, but have to confess I really struggled tonight with his early metaphysics of language essay ‘On Language as Such and on the Language of Man’ from 1916. It’s interesting to see how much less opaque his more mature writing is in comparison to this piece (‘On Language…’ was written when he was only 22).The density of this early work, alongside its rather impenetrable esoteric character, really made my brain ache. <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/WalterBenjamin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WalterBenjamin</a>
