Dilophosaurus is someplace strange.

Today, before I'd even had coffee, I found a spider making a web in my kitchen window. I fetched The Glass & attempted to trap it, but the thread of the web created a wee spider trapeze for it to swing down, round, & up on to the EXTERIOR of the glass that I was carrying to the back door.

This was not a good start to the day.

Anyhow, dear spiders, absolutely love your work decorating the meadows. 5 stars. Would photograph again.

But fuck off out of my kitchen.

This was another shot from spiderwebs in the morning. Instead of getting the whole web with a clear subject I wanted to get the webs with the dew all over it. Using the screen zoom. Low ISO, tiny aperture for macro lens, and shutter speed to compensate since no subject to worry about. #webs #dew #2023photochallenge

Along with the smoke we've also been having super humid mornings making all of the spider webs stand out vividly in the dew. Poked my phone camera in a bit closer to see if anyone was home. Hello!

People often talk about complex #ecologies in terms of food #webs. But I ask you then - what great creature sits in the centre of the #forest, pedipalps resting against the roots for the feel of something #caught, struggling vainly to escape?

Going to my parents place in #Northampton and thought about how #webs is there and got a warm cozy feeling inside.
