(Giun Ryu and Mun Jeong Hoo) And yes, the humour and the terraforming is present. The story so far seems more episode of the week with a greater quest. It's fun! As a bonus, this comic includes a horse that is actually a character instead of a prop. yelling jackal66 666 Years: Advent of the Dark Mage just finished its 3rd season. I really like this one. It's a good time to pick it up, or reread it (as I'm doing). The art team seems professional and doesn't seem like it's overworking individual members (many caveats of course, I can only take what I see from the quality, from the length of breaks, and from their work method they devulge in afterwords). They're methodical and though several team members have come and gone for various reasons the quality hasn't dipped at all. Story is "dark mage reincarnated into very loving family and starts building up power to get revenge on the gods and free humanity and the rest of the world". Has a lot of heart. If you want a fantasy action story with heart, it's worth picking up. Story seems well developed, based on a novel. yelling jackalWhat do you get when you put the authors of Noblesse and Girls of the Wilds together? An action comic that doesn't treat women like boobs for cheap jokes or uses a guy to tell all the girls' stories and that actually has a thought out plot with good pacing. So, the plot skills and pacing from Girls of the Wilds and the humour and heart and action and respect from Noblesse. (Maybe you can tell I had /problems/ with Girls of the Wilds, haha.) They've taken the best from each comic and put them together. Anyway, I really like Eleceed! It's funny, heartwarming, and has very fun action and consistent art. yelling jackalOkay so best intrigue story on Webtoons right now by far is YOUR THRONE by SAM. I read it twice over a few years ago and then let it sit for a few years while it built up more chapters and it has /not/ gotten worse, it has kept up the same good quality of writing and characterization and intrigue as it did at the start. It is rated 15+ and skirts the lines of that, so do check out content warnings if you need to. Most characters are very grey and not completely good or bad. People die and manipulate and there is some animal abuse, much child abuse, and abusive relationships. They do warn at the start of every chapter if it contains as such (the animal abuse is always warned about, I think they may play fast and loose with the child abuse and they don't bother with the relationship stuff since it's up front about that from the very start). yelling jackalI finally finished TaTa the Cat and here's my very strong recommendation to anyone at all to read it. <a href="https://www.webtoons.com/en/heartwarming/tata-the-cat/list?title_no=5547" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.webtoons.com/en/heartwarming/tata-the-cat/list?title_no=5547</a> It's got big family chaos vibes a bit like Summer Wars, and also a little like Summer Wars the theme is the past and the present, and reconciling the two and moving on together. It's.... beautiful, and made me cry a lot, and has a beautiful happy ending. It's also not super long for a comic, exactly as long as it needs to be. The art is grounded and fleshed out and really warm and nice. Ghilbi-inspired but its own thing, too. There are so many scenes I'll never forget. Am happy I read it. I want to read it again. yelling jackalI can't sleep and am reading comics instead. Finding myself rereading Men of the Harem, so have a recommendation! It's a mystery combined with political intrigue combined with a charming lead and many, many fun harem members. It's a male harem, with a female emperor. Het romance only, sadly, this time, but the art is spectacular and there's a whole lot of eye candy from the start. Story makes use of fantasy setting, I'd compare it to a slightly sparklier Castlevania kind of setting. I find myself liking all the characters when they're on stage, and enjoying the villains. Has comedy, good pacing, interesting mystery, and a good sprinkling of fun romance. As far as I am aware it stays a harem throughout. The mystery may be hard to follow (but easier in one go vs reading weekly), and merely by virtue of it being a harem story there's a lot of characters to keep track of, so just a warning there. yelling jackalAgainst all odds, I Abdicate My Title of Empress is actually turning out to be pretty good! Seems to be sticking the landing really well, as opposed to Divorcing My Tyrant Husband, which skipped all relationship development to rush to an ending. If you want to read a mid romance fantasy comic, you could do worse than I Abdicate My Title of Empress. I guess kinda like Georgette Heyer romance? Not enough fun comedic relationship stuff to hit that level, but it's kinda in that ballpark. The payoff is making me feel things and usually the mid level stuff never does that. Also the toxic dudes aren't the main dude, and the main dude touches on that but controls himself and realises it's wrong. Refreshing in a mid comic! <a class="hashtag" href="https://nyan.network/tag/webtoons" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#webtoons</a>

yelling jackalSo there's a ton of comics about being inside generic MMO RPGs, right? My favourite "oops I'm in a game" right now is for visual novel fans! Heartbeat Conquest, on Webtoons. Main character wakes up in a visual novel world, assumes she's dreaming about playing a game she got. She proceeds to start creating her own harem, while trying to figure out what's going on with her character. The writing is fun, the story intriguing, and the characters are interesting. Art is consistent, fits visual novel aesthetics, and I really like what it's doing! Looks like the romance will stick to harem, with a lead who cares about everyone's feelings and experiences, and the problematic tropes are treated as problematic tropes. Main content warning I'll give is that it does involve a trope of "sentient species that get treated differently", somewhat a la shock collars in Zootopia. On the whole it's a much higher level of wholesome than I've grown to expect from visual novels, though. yelling jackalA post for pinning. I review and read a lot of comics, and among those are a lot of Webtoons comics. If you are an artist or author wanting to join hands with Webtoons as a platform, please make sure you have good legal advice before doing so. They do not have a good track record with paying fairly, giving good work/life balance, or creative control, and will always want publishing exclusivity for some years, so just like working for any other large company, stack the odds as much in your favour as you can. If you read comics, well, Webtoons pretty much always has an exclusivity clause regarding the titles on there, so reading and sharing the comics on there will help the creators. Just look out for ways you can support them outside of the platform, too. For the Canvas side of things, Webtoons is just like any other free hosting. Doesn't control much but the possible revenue options and what it's okay with hosting, creators still have all rights.
