He wakes up sweating, his back stuck to the bed. From the other room the TV is murmuring a susurration of news, and he hears her leg nervously bouncing on the living room floor. Another dry week in this dry winter. Two more weeks of that, and their crops will be ruined. She'll leave then, as she's been threatening.
