Yasunao Tone, a composer and artist who bridged the gap between music and visual arts, has died at age 90. Here's @ArtNews's tribute to the cerebral, experimental and highly influential sound maker, who described his work as like "a parasite without a host," and of whom Yoko Ono once said: “I think people will be surprised to know that the usual notion of Asian music will be totally destroyed when they listen to his music or read his scores. He is not Asian. He is Martian.”
