Here kitty kitty kitty.

For those not in BC... this is why they filmed Alone on Vancouver Island, we really do have the most cougars/mountain lions/pumas/insert-other-name!

They're just wandering around aimlessly, looking for small animals or human babies to eat. ;0)

Beautiful Plumper Bay. Waters between Songhees & Esquimalt first peoples. Songhees First Nation longhouse, across the bay. Prior to colonialism, beaches around the bay & greater Esquimalt harbour areas, were full of shellfish/seafoods & food plants from the sea. Since colonialism, especially with a big military base right beside both first nations, the waters are too polluted & people can't harvest foods safely there.

#VictoriaBC's airport #YYJ has a very nice 10 km perimeter path for #cycling and walking. It has also become a scale model of the solar system. And, it's all due to a keen teenager!

Today I rode there to check it out. I didn't photograph each one. Here's the Earth, the Sun, and the explainer. This is a great bit of science outreach. It made me quite happy.

Opened the door to the patio this afternoon & startled a large animal resting high up a tree on a branch located in the ocean viewpoint beside our property. He did an unbalanced jump from that branch to a lower one then down to the ground. No idea what kind of animal because of all the leaves hiding it from view - thinking either a bear or a cougar - it was that big. Needless to say, being careful with the dog in the yard. Gotta love this seaside living. #yyj
