@ObsidianUrbex I'm always amazed how much stuff and everyday items get left behind. I suppose these places were abandoned from one day to the next.
@Gremriel
Exactly! Sometimes it feels like the owners just up and left one day
@ObsidianUrbex oh wow! It looks like the inhabitants just got up one day and left? Were the sewing machines for display rather than use, since there aren't chairs by them? What kind of books are on the shelves? Do you know why the inhabitants didn't come back? Are the other rooms in the building similarly left mid-use?
@mothninja
Oh lots of questions, I like questions
I think this has been mostly uninhabited for around 20 years, but the precise reason it is abandoned isn't clear. Usually in France it's a lack of heirs wanting to live there, and to make the repairs. Think the sewing room was used and the chairs looted as they were easy to carry. I don't read French so unfortunately I didn't look too closely at that books . There were more rooms as well, and a little chapel, in various conditions
@ObsidianUrbex thank you so much for detailed answers and stunning images! What an extraordinary place
