This is really lovely - what medium is this piece?
I'm tagging #Alt4you to get an alt-text description for you. If you repost with alt - text, I will absolutely boost this. (adding it is pretty easy - copy the Alt-text description, and after you upload your image, there's a prompt to enter descriptive text. Click on the image and paste the description into the text box.)
I usually don't boost posts without descriptions, so I hope to see this with Alt text- it's beautiful.
@CrowquillGal Alt4You goes in the image description. To request image descriptions use Alt4Me
@CrowquillGal Also the watercolor painting does have an alt text
there was no alt text visible when I saw and responded to her post.
(otherwise I wouldn't request it )
@CrowquillGal But alt texts cannot yet be added or changed in edits (on Mastodon, I think Friendica supports it, but this post is on a Mastodon instance). It must have already been there and you overlooked it.
Yup- I checked the edit options and Mastodon doesn't have the ability to edit alt text.
Now I'm wondering if there's a consistent 'Hot Zone' that brings up alt-text on mouseover, or if it's related to the 'focal point' chosen by the poster. I mouse over every image I want to boost, to check for alt text, so my mouse must have skipped or ...something? I really like that painting, so I was Searching HARD for that alt text!!!
@GreenSkyOverMe I had thought alt4me is if I am posting something, and don't know a good way to describe it.
thanks for clearing that up!
@CrowquillGal For that, too. And blind users requesting image descriptions in replies.
