This is Silverdale, a coastal area of salt marshes, estuaries, Morecambe Bay, and low limestone coastal hills.

Had an unexpected encounter with this Mourning Gecko (Lepidodactylus lugubris) near my home in Singapore as I was coming back from my morning walk.
Interesting fact: it's parthenogenic, so it doesn't need males to reproduce.

Looking at fine gradation selective toning using a #RawTherapee processed nearly final #BlackAndWhite #image and tossing it into the #Gimp where I used Luminosity Masks and Sample Colorizing three layers over a base layer. Cool tones in the shadows, neutral browns in the mids, and platinum/palladium for the highlights.
this one is not as dramatic as some that i have seen, but they will do this "Broken WIng" behavior away from their nest to lure predators away from the eggs.
Many of the bike trails here have river rock landscaping at the sides, especially through neighborhoods, so the kill dear often lay their speckled eggs in them (and they're very difficult to spot). You know a nest is close if you see one doing this.
Barbondale, one of the more quiet valleys in the Yorkshire Dales.

I moved to new place here in Hanoi few days ago. Just getting back to things now. Tonight I came to West Lake for beers (again). I usually sit out in the evenings enjoying a few and the evening sliding in. West Lake is the largest body of fresh water in Hanoi. Nice place to live and drink. Vietnam is doing pretty well these days. Glad I’m here. #photography #vietnam #hanoi #beer
I took a couple little videos also but the clips were very short because I wanted to focus on getting as good a still shot as I could.
I saw this hawk-like bird with a white head while I was driving and I pulled over because I thought it might have been an eagle, but it was actually an osprey. I don't know if I'd ever seen one in the wild before!
I wish I could have gotten a closer picture, but it was super far away and I couldn't get closer.
