My friend Lori's dad was the drummer in The Loading Zone, a Youngstown <a href="https://heads.social/tags/ohio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ohio</span></a> based quintet. Their original name was the Hi-Guys but Columbia rechristened them for this single, the only one they released. Phil Kindermann<p>Today’s listening is ‘Déjà Vu’, the 1970 album by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.</p><p>CS&N are joined by Y for this album and it is something of a mixed bag-their version of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Woodstock’ being excellent, as is ‘Helpless’ by Neil Young.<br>However, I’ve never liked the 2 Graham Nash songs on this album-‘Our House’ being particularly annoying!</p><p>My copy has ‘To Lisa, I hope you like it’ written on the inner sleeve. Nick<p>Hard to believe <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/DavidCrosby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DavidCrosby</span></a> has died. He was tweeting about The Beatles only yesterday, and was at the peak of a musical resurgence.</p><p>Crosby's 1971 solo album If I Could Only Remember My Name was actually made with many brilliant friends, including Jerry Garcia, Nash, Young, Joni etc. It's one of my favourite albums. Almost Cut My Hair featured on it as well as on Déjà Vu by <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/CSNY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CSNY</span></a>.</p><p>He also wrote Wooden Ships and Guinnevere, two highlights from CSN's debut.</p><p>Fair winds and following seas, Croz.</p>
