photosOur scanning tables are getting another update!
photosI've had some folks asking about my various scanning solutions and thought I'd toss out a reminder that my newest scanning table is now available! It's for folks using the Raleno PLV-S116 light source and is designed to fit around the light. Tops are available from 35mm up to 4x5. I don't have a particular top you're looking for, decent chance I'll be able to make it for you too!<br><br>Available on my direct storefront (<a href="http://bitbybitphoto.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">bitbybitphoto.com</a>) but will be making it's way over to Etsy soon as well!<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanning</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmScanning</a>
photosMy new scanning table that uses the Raleno light pad is now available (as an open beta). I've tested this myself and have sent this out to a few folks in a closed beta but decided to go ahead and open things up to others that might be interested in being among the first to try it out. It currently supports 35mm, 6x6 and 4x5 though I will be adding more sizes soon (and can make other formats upon request).<br><br>It's currently only available on my direct store (link in bio) but is discounted from the normal price since it is a beta.<br><br>Folks will need to buy their own Raleno PLV-S116. I may eventually offer this as a package deal but for the moment you'll have to grab one up separately (it can be found in several places).<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanning</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/scanningfilm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ScanningFilm</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/beta" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Beta</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/raleno" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Raleno</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/ralenoplvs116" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RalenoPLVS116</a>
photosQuick peek at what I think is the final version of my new DSLR scanning solution which uses the Raleno light tablet. This was on mine brightness so I could manage to take a quick snap on my phone but the tablet is BRIGHT. I have a black and white frame here but the Raleno has a reportedly high CRI and should be good for C41 and color slides.<br><br>The main change from my last prototype is I've base the film bottom just a little thinner but added support bracing along the back to keep it sturdy and flat. I have also found that I don't think I need to worry too much about needing to use magnets to keep films flat. There would be some edge cases I might want to test still but not having magnets keeps the cost and time to make these down.<br><br>But again don't worry, as I've mentioned before, the existing DSLR Scanning Tables will still be available. This is for folks who want tidier solution, want to use one solution for 35mm up to 4x5 or perhaps already have the Raleno panel.<br><br>It's currently in beta test now but should be available soon!<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/ralenolight" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RalenoLight</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRSCanning</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/prototype" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Prototype</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/almostdone" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#AlmostDone</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a>
photosAnother update on my Raleno film scanning table thing (it deserves some sort of name, I just haven't come up with one yet).<br><br>I decided to just go for it and made a 35mm Raleno table in black. Unfortunately I"ll have to make some adjustments to the 35mm parts. I somehow got the post distance wrong (even though I used my existing 35mm scanning table measurements, or I thought so anyway) and because the table is so big, I'm going to put some extra supports along the base to help keep it even more rigid. I'm quite happy with it in spite though!<br><br>I'm finding, at least for the 35mm version, the top is already so big and heavy that it seems to be able to press the film flat without magnets. This is a good thing since, though I really like my hidden magnets (and may still use them for the 120 and 4x5 versions and of course on my existing scanning solutions), they do add cost and complexity that might not be required here. Keeping the costs reasonable is important since, of course, there are higher end scanning options already available which are really good. My purpose is to offer options for folks that can't quite afford those or want something simpler.<br><br>Anyways more prototyping to go, but progress was made!<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/prototype" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Prototype</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/prototyping" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Prototyping</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/3dprinting" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#3DPrinting</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/scanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/35mmfilm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#35mmfilm</a>
photosI'm posting too much about products, I know! Sorry! I'm just so excited about the new stuff I'm working on it's hard not to share! And it's been a bit of a drought in terms of getting to take a photos as of late (other than the product ones). So hopefully folks can forgive lots of products and fewer photos. I'll get back to sharing photos soon I'm sure (I finally fixed my water leak in my darkroom, so that's nice!)<br><br>But since I am sharing! Here's the CAD of what the 35mm version of the Raleno scanning thing looks like!<br><br>Instead of finger notches that I use for my current scanning tables, I switched to tabs here which can work for both lefties like myself and righties (just flip the top the other way around). The Raleno stand is also shorter but should still clear the knobs on the back.<br><br>This is going so well that tomorrow I may look at printing these in black filament and installing magnets. Given the larger size of the top, the magnets might no longer be required but I think it's a nice touch just the same.<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/prototyping" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Prototyping</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/3dprinting" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#3DPrinting</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/scanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanning</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/cad" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CAD</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/35mm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#35mm</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a>
photosComing Soon! The little brother to my 120 6x12 scanning table, the 6x7 scanning table! Also available with multiple tops (6x4.5, 6x6, and 6x7).<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanningtable" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanningTable</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/dslrscanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DSLRScanning</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/filmphotography" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FilmPhotography</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.bitbybitwhatever.com/tag/scanning" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Scanning</a>
