My day. Everyday (almost). Pushing so hard to keep some space in this world for things not human against walls that keep closing in. It's exhausting. #sisyphus #ecogrief

The online #Sabbat rituals I started during the COVID lockdowns continue to be an important part of my offerings. Last night we gathered on Zoom for #Samhain to honor our beloved dead. During our ritual we paused to reflect on whole species who have disappeared into the ancestral realm due to the #ExtinctionCrisis because our #EcoGrief needs to be acknowledged and shared.

My "Zoom altar" is shared with a 2nd camera.

It is no longer possible for me to make "normal" #art. The #exhibition of my #BiodiversityShrines is meant to be #activism but also to encourage people to change their perspective through the #sciFi #fiction #storytelling. For me, it was a project to learn to deal with my #EcoGrief. And it's a hell of a lot of fun! This is the hardest time of year for me to get out and exercise, not because it's cold and dark, but because it's emotionally heavy. It is summer's end, the final harvest, #Scorpio season, the season of #grief in a society that generally doesn't do grief well. I got out for a run anyway, with the dying leaves, dragging some joy out from within, working on Sunday's sermon about #AllSoulsDay in my head.

#ClimateDiary Finding myself just completely overwhelmed by grief at the moment about what we* have done to the world, and what the world is losing.

I keep on thinking about not just people but animals and plants everywhere suffering and dying in silence, entirely innocent in all this. And just want to say sorry to all, the whole time.

*"We" here not meaning all of humanity. But I do include myself amongst those who I hold responsible. From rich North, Gen X, etc.

I worked hard today because my best wishes for you come as sound ▶️ anchor.fm/naturematchcuts/epis

Madame crawls saplessly (plant writing) to a coffee.😂 Episode 5 of my #podcast #NatureMatchCuts is scripted. :jeb:

Now I'm going to fire up my AI grammar nitpicker, look for missing words and play the harsh proofreader. On 31st December the rather daring episode will be published. It's about #EcoGrief and #interbeingness #unselfing #interconnectedness

A huge dead #tree lay naturally fallen in the #forest today. It had been dead for many years and hollowed out by #mushrooms, #woodpeckers and other animals. There is a quiet dignity around its crown.

And vibrant life. Birds peck insects and small rodents seek shelter from the cold. The time of #soillife has come and that of #mosses and #lichens.

In my next podcast episode (coming on New Year's Eve), I want to talk about #ecoGrief and how I find #comfort in #nature. #NatureMatchCuts
