Links to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/YouTube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#YouTube</a> from the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Mastodon</a> app open in <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Safari" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Safari</a>. If I then click “Open App,” opens the YouTube iOS app, but again does not go to the video linked. Have I messed something up? Is this an iOS problem or something I control on my <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/iPhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#iPhone</a>? This just started happening in the last few days. [Update: Search indicates problem with YouTube app. Reinstall fixed it.]

electragicianWait a minute... if it's a toot on Mastodon, what is it if you access the Fediverse via GoToSocial? I saw Feditext mentioned as an iOS client that worked well with GoToSocial, so got it installed via TestFlight, and it does work well! Apparently it's a fork of the old Metatext app. It's nice! It also still lets you swap the default post button's label from "Toot" to "Post", so I guess that's what we'll go with. Goot was all I could come up with, and it sounded kind of goofy anyway 🤣 PS: This post was from semaphore on my desktop system. And if you have a policy that prevents posting without alt text, this will prevent you from adding alt text one by one, essentially making it similarly impossible impossible to add alt text.
