On a small patch of grass in front of two houses, two large straw figures have been built. Both are in traditional german costumes; the male figure has a straw hat and a blue shirt, while the female figure has a red waistcoat and straw pigtails. On the step of the red brick house behind is a small "gingerbread" house. There are several windows behind, and a bush climbing the wall with orange berries, a pyracantha I think. In the foreground a small sign is fixed in the ground saying "PTA 28 Hansel and Gretel".

A small lake, still in afternoon sun, is surrounded by trees and reeds. The water is home to dozens of ducks; while some are swimming about, quite a few in the foreground have their heads tucked back, asleep.

The board is slit so the top half can be raised in slots. This was "the stocks", a form of public humiliation punishment; the offender's arms and legs would be pinned through the holes, and they could be pelted with rotten vegentables!

Castle Gatehouse. This was turned into a private home when Kenilworth Castle was "slighted" (ie made indefensible) after the English Civil War.

A rather ornate (ex) doorway with pillars and fancy brickwork, with a little peaked gable. There are hanging baskets each side of the door. The glass panels in the door have many stickers on them with various awards, including Michelin 2021. Other signs say "No deliveries to this door" and "Please use other door". Fading leaves from potted Hosta plants. The leaves are almost oval shaped, asymmetrical and pointed. Their colour varies from green with white edges (the summer colour) through yellows to browns. Most have damage, holes made by slugs or caterpillars. They have small raindrops on them. Portrait format colour photo.

How I develop color film at home: Bellini C-41 chemicals, in a water bath, managed by a sous vide device

If I could start over I would just avoid buying stuff from Cinestill (including the device, and their C-41 chemicals). Just expensive for what it’s worth and also annoying company.

I only use Bellini chemicals where possible, they are my favorite maker.
