Gleichzeitig ist die antifaschistische Bewegung mit harter staatlicher Repression konfrontiert: Viele Antifas sind in Haft oder entziehen sich drohender Strafverfolgung.</p><p>Seit gut 2 Jahren läuft im Nachgang antifaschistischer Interventionen gegen den sog. „Tag der Ehre“ in Budapest eine europaweite Welle der Repression. Zurzeit sind im „Budapest-Komplex“ 12 Personen inhaftiert - für zwei von ihnen, Gino und Zaid droht akut die Auslieferung nach Ungarn bzw. eine Abschiebung wegen fehlender EU-Staatsbürgerschaft. </p><p>Wir wollen mit Soli-Strukturen und Anwält*innen aus Frankreich und Deutschland über den aktuellen Stand der Verfahren und über (internationale) Herausforderungen der Anti-Repressionsarbeit sprechen. Weltschmerz à Gogo<p>Some good news, at least provisionally, for Gino, the antifascist who was arrested in France a few months ago on a Hungarian warrant based on allegations of violence against Nazis in Budapest in Feb. 2023.</p><p>Gino's lawyers filed a motion against extradition to Hungary on the basis that the Hungarian courts are not in a position to give Gino a fair trial, and the French court accepted that motion. The French court has asked Hungarian officials for additional information regarding possible prison conditions as well as whether or not there would be any chance that Gino would get a trial based on actual facts, rather than on his political orientation. Hungary has 15 days to respond, and there is another hearing scheduled for February 12.</p><p>This is a hopeful development in part because it is a reminder of Gabri's case last year in Italy. November 2024 ist unser Genosse Gino in Frankreich inhaftiert. Gegen ihn liegt ein von Ungarn ausgestellter Europäischer Haftbefehl vor, der ihn beschuldigt, 2023 in Budapest Gewalt gegen Nazis ausgeübt zu haben.<br>Bei einer Auslieferung drohen Gino bis zu 16 Jahre Haft.</p><p>Es wäre ein Skandal, wenn Frankreich bereit ist, mit der faschistischen Regierung von Victor Orban zusammenzuarbeiten.</p><p>Deshalb möchten wir Druck auf die Justiz ausüben und der Stimme der antifaschistischen Solidarität gegen die Zusammenarbeit der französischen Justiz mit einem rechtsextremen Staat international Gehör verschaffen.</p><p>Am 15. Januar wird die französische Justiz über das Schicksal unseres Genossen entscheiden, und wir möchten den Druck verstärken. Weltschmerz à Gogo<p>In the course of the "Day of Honor" Nazifest in Budapest in February 2023, the Hungarian government either arrested or subsequently issued international arrest warrants for a number of people who it says engaged in violence against the event's participants. Several of those people are currently either in custody of Órban's authoritarian state or pending extradition there.</p><p>There hasn't been a whole lot of detailed coverage of this stuff in English, so I recently interviewed a member of the Budapest Antifascist Solidarity Committee (BASC) in the hope of getting the word out a bit more widely and clarifying just what happened in Budapest and what has been going on since those events.
