Colin Purrington<p>If you live in Ontario and like leaf miners, Charley Eiseman would be grateful for pics of ones living on ornamental geraniums. He'd be extra happy if you'd collect the leaves and rear the larvae into adulthood (it's fun). Details in link. dandelion<p>Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata) provides for many insects from native bees to parasitic flies that followed the Europeans to North America. Unfortunately, it's a highly invasive plant that has the potential to destroy native plant communities.</p><p><a href="https://dresden.network/tags/InvasivePlants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InvasivePlants</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/Pollinators" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pollinators</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/LeafMiners" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LeafMiners</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/GreatPlains" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GreatPlains</span></a></p>
dandelion<p>Zum <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/InsektenSamstag" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InsektenSamstag</span></a> heute die Spuren verschiedener minierender Insekten. Und wenn auch einige wenige Vertreter bei Landwirten und Gärtnern nicht gern gesehen sind, richten doch die allermeisten Arten keinen ernsthaften Schaden an.</p><p><a href="https://dresden.network/tags/Insects" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Insects</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/Invertebrates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Invertebrates</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/Leafminers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Leafminers</span></a> <a href="https://dresden.network/tags/Biodiversity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Biodiversity</span></a></p>
Ashes and Dust<p>Leaf mine of the Poison Ivy Leafminer Moth (Cameraria guttifinitella) for <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/NationalMothWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NationalMothWeek</span></a>. Max, whispers to you too now<p>So nice to come back from a date (I went to the park alone) with a flower bouquet (I picked leafs that had leaf miners in the and I want to see them hatch) 😍 <br><a href="https://scicomm.xyz/tags/insects" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>insects</span></a> <a href="https://scicomm.xyz/tags/leafMiners" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>leafMiners</span></a></p>
Jonny Clark<p>I’m becoming increasingly fascinated by <a href="https://birds.town/tags/LeafMiners" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LeafMiners</span></a> - larvae of some moths (and probably other invertebrates) that eat the leaves of their chosen <a href="https://birds.town/tags/foodplant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>foodplant</span></a> from the inside.<br>Here’s one on a <a href="https://birds.town/tags/cherry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cherry</span></a> leaf and the other on an <a href="https://birds.town/tags/oak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oak</span></a> leaf.<br>In normal light it’s hard to see they’re there at all but back lighting helps.</p><p><a href="https://birds.town/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/NaturePhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NaturePhotography</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/wildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wildlife</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/invertebrates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>invertebrates</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/insect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>insect</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/Insects" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Insects</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/macro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macro</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/macrophotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macrophotography</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/closeup" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>closeup</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/leaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>leaves</span></a> <a href="https://birds.town/tags/entomology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>entomology</span></a></p>
