J. Scott Coatsworth, Author<p>Periodically, I feature one of my backlist titles you might have missed. Today: Flames:</p><p>"This is such a beautiful, poignant story. I cried. It is written in mainly Alex's view as he tries to see Gio, bring him out of a coma and get through the tragedy. Then there are small sections in Gio's view in his darkness and light and how he finds Alex again. I absolutely loved this style and the story is brilliant." --Cathy Brockman</p><p><a href="https://www.otherworldsink.com/book/flames/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">otherworldsink.com/book/flames</span><span class="invisible">/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.otherworldsink.com/tags/Backlist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Backlist</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.otherworldsink.com/tags/MagicalRealism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MagicalRealism</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.otherworldsink.com/tags/GayRomance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GayRomance</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.otherworldsink.com/tags/Books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Books</span></a></p>

DreamscapesThis is the lighthouse of Getaria, Basque country in northern Spain, west of San Sebastian.<br> <br> The series of artworks titled "Hope" are inspired by rugged landscapes where the feeling of freedom is maximally expressed. During the Covid lockdowns, I often thought about the beautiful areas where I felt happy because I immersed myself in nature and left the 'rat race' behind. I hoped to have the opportunity again to travel freely to areas where I wouldn't be consumed by my mobile phone and computer, and traffic noise. By disconnecting from everything, I experience contentment and happiness. Allowing myself to be surprised by the unknown is my raison d'être.<br> <br> The works in this <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/artseries?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#artseries</a> are mixed media digital compositions. Aanakutti<p>14. This must be the 6th time I have read this book. And every time my mind starts to layer the story into life and I am in two places at once…. One is where I am and then in Macondo, walking around my house hearing birdsong, the smell of fried plantain wafting from my kitchen though it’s not on the menu , Ursula’s muttering, whiffs of caramel and gunpowder, the occasional glint of tiny gold fishes scattered around the house though I have never found them, incessant rain from a clear blue sky. All this while the ghost of Melquiades sits comfortable in my corner chair near my book shelf, reading from a pile of books. I leave him alone.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bookstodon</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/onehundredyearsofsolitude" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>onehundredyearsofsolitude</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/gabrielgarciamarquez" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gabrielgarciamarquez</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/macondo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macondo</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/literature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>literature</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reading</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/magicalrealism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>magicalrealism</span></a></p>

C., 1925: Clara Johnson can talk to spirits—a gift that saved her during her darkest moments, now a curse that’s left her indebted to the cunning spirit world. So when a powerful spirit offers her an opportunity to gain her freedom, Clara seizes the chance, no questions asked. The task: steal a magical ring from the wealthiest woman in the District.</p><p>Clara can’t pull off this daring heist alone. She’ll need the help of an unlikely team, from a handsome jazz musician able to hypnotize with a melody to an aging actor who can change his face, to pull off the impossible.
