Phil<p>You wouldn’t think this would work but it does! <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/truSDX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>truSDX</span></a> attached to a metal fence with Tomato wire and a Bluetooth adapter with the cheapest BT headphones, a 10Ah PD power supply and a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PackTenna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PackTenna</span></a>. Makes for a great setup to adjust my antenna and hear feedback in realtime. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/amateurradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>amateurradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/radio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>radio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/qrp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>qrp</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/sota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sota</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pota</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/anker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anker</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hamradiodude" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradiodude</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hammie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hammie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/cwmorse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cwmorse</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/cw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cw</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/baseus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>baseus</span></a></p>
Phil<p>Put together a small CW QRP practice kit for a recent trip. The key to this for me has been the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/truSDX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>truSDX</span></a> and this super rad USB-C PD to 12v barrel plug. PD seems to keep the battery on whereas USB-A 3 won’t. Funny enough non-fancy USB has no problem pushing out 5v all day long!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/amateurradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>amateurradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PackTenna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PackTenna</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/thule" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thule</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/qrp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>qrp</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/12v" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>12v</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/travel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>travel</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/travelhacks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>travelhacks</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/travellight" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>travellight</span></a></p>
Phil<p>Did some testing of my new <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DXCommander" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DXCommander</span></a> carbon fiber pole with my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PackTenna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PackTenna</span></a> 20M raised about 9’ in the air. Super solid almost 1:1 SWR and no <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rfi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rfi</span></a> issues that I could tell. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/icom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>icom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/amateurradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>amateurradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a></p>
Jim - kd9pah<p>Spent some time today operating <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/ft8" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ft8</span></a> portable with my <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/tx500" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tx500</span></a>. I was taking the new batterypack for it's maiden voyage. The bands were poor, but everything worked well. Exercised the <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/packtenna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>packtenna</span></a> ended randomwire and endfed 20m.</p>
