Ah came hame again! I had a Red Kite encounter to end them all!!!! #Birds #BirdPhotogaphy #RedKite #AngusGlens Photos to follow asap
A pair of Red Kite hunting over The Wash. They were causing the Red Knot to keep taking flight in large numbers to avoid them.
Honourable mentions are the Wetland hide and Dragonfly hide. Both very big and probably the most accessible of all the hides on the site. We were running short on time so had to rush these hides but soaring around the Wetland hide was a Red Kite.

I nearly forgot!
Driving north on the A1 today, somewhere between Stamford and Grantham, I saw what I thought at first was a kestrel flying over the carriagewayl, then noticed it was bigger, and finally realised it was only a red kite!
Swooping low enough to see in glorious detail, albeit briefly. I've seen them in the distance before, but never so close. Absolutely beautiful.
Well that was an impressive way to dispose of leftover BBQ meat! Buckinghamshire UK this morning! #birds #birds of prey #RedKite #conservation
That was good! I went out with the camera for the first time in ages. I was heading to our local pond but on the way drove past a field and spotted a red kite circling around. While red kites are increasingly common in many parts of the country we have had relatively few in this part of Sussex (Brighton). I've been waiting patiently for years for them to extend their territory this far south and east. I parked up on my way back from the pond and sure enough the kite was still there. The light was poor and these aren't great shots, but given their local scarcity seeing this less than a mile from my home was a real treat. With luck there will be many more (and better) sightings in the future. #raptor #BirdsOfMastodon #RedKite #Brighton #Falmer
