Combined with <code>rlfossil</code>, a telnet-to-serial-port emulator for DOS (yes, really!), you can now read and write messages in my little forum!</p><p>Just telnet to <code>floppy.museum</code> on port <code>8023</code> - I recommend using <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.anduin.net/tag/syncterm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#SyncTERM</a> or some other client that implements the IBM 437 codepage, or 850 in a pinch. The experience should be fairly period-correct, something akin to a 1200 baud modem based on my testing.</p><p>And just a reminder: This is a 286 machine, which also runs a web server, an IRC server, an FTP server <em>and</em> all of the above at the same time. It's not fast, but it gets the job done.</p><p>Also: Only one node at the moment. If it's busy, try again later! Consider it an early beta, for the moment! :D</p><p>[1] <a href="https://dcclost.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://dcclost.com/</a></p><p><a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.anduin.net/tag/retrocomputing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RetroComputing</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.anduin.net/tag/why" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Why</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.anduin.net/tag/patience" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Patience</a></p>
