Jeff Smith<p>Pigs feet - Eisbein more or less - to go with the sauerkraut I made. </p><p>Low and slow for most of the day. Using the Taiwan Tatung rice cooker per my wife’s insistence (and free solar electricity instead of gas for the stove)</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/PigsFeet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PigsFeet</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Trotters" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trotters</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Eisbein" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eisbein</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/cooking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cooking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/LowAndSlow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LowAndSlow</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Tatung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tatung</span></a></p>
settima<p>Habe die <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Tatung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tatung</span></a> gekauft, habe einen passenden Spannungswandler im Einkaufskorb, *aber* (es gibt immer einen) der 2-polige Stecker, der mit dem (Reis)kocher geliefert wird, ist nicht geerdet und niemand weiß, ob das evtl. ein Problem sein könnte.</p><p>Hier also eine weitere N00b-Frage: Würde ein Adapter, der den 2-Pol-Stecker in einen 3-Pol-Stecker umwandelt, die Erdung sicher machen?</p><p>Entschuldigt jegliche Naivität...</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Reiskocher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reiskocher</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Strom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Strom</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Elektrizit%C3%A4t" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Elektrizität</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Technik" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Technik</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Elektriker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Elektriker</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/FediHilfe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediHilfe</span></a></p>
settima<p>🧵 The puzzle has expanded, please scroll up for details if needed.</p><p>Bought the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Tatung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tatung</span></a>, have a suitable voltage convertor in my shopping basket, *but* (there's always one) the 2-prong plug that comes with the cooker is not grounded and no one knows if that could be potentially bad.</p><p>So here's yet another n00b question: would an adapter that changes the 2-prong into 3-prong make the safely grounded?</p><p>Excuses any naivety…</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/TechHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TechHelp</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Fedihelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fedihelp</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Taiwan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Taiwan</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/voltage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>voltage</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/electricity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electricity</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/electricians" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electricians</span></a></p>
settima<p>A bit more digging but still somewhat clueless.</p><p>TW 110V / 60Hz<br>DE 230V / 50Hz</p><p>This rice cooker has a heater function that runs indefinitely when the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/rice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rice</span></a> if done. So any power converter /adapter should be able to handle that.</p><p>EDIT:<br>cooking 600W<br>warming 35W</p><p>I don't know yet what type of plug the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Tatung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tatung</span></a> has, probably the one seen below (125V 10A 990W).</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/TechHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TechHelp</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Fedihelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fedihelp</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/RiceCookers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiceCookers</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Taiwan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Taiwan</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/voltage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>voltage</span></a></p>
settima<p>My basic <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a> brain has melted in this heat. If I'd buy a <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/RiceCooker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiceCooker</span></a> imported from <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Taiwan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Taiwan</span></a> with Taiwanese specifications, what to look out for in a convertor? I don't mind unplugging after use. The power cable has its own plug and can be swapped out.</p><p>Tatung TAC-06L-D.</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Tatung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tatung</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/FediHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediHelp</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/RiceCookers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiceCookers</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/food" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>food</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/TaiwaneseFood" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaiwaneseFood</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/technology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>technology</span></a></p>
