Joe Roe<p>To end the day, the keynote speaker Adam Anderson presented an ontology for cuneiform artefacts.</p><p>He showed how Midjourney can produce... interesting renditions of ancient architecture like the Ishtar gate, but is hopeless if asked to reproduce cuneiform text. </p><p>How can we teach AI cuneiform?</p><p>With an ontology! FactGrid's cuneiform ontology is implemented in <a href="https://archaeo.social/tags/Wikibase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wikibase</span></a>. inventaire.io<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.cologne/@Lokal_K" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Lokal_K</span></a></span> and just to avoid any misconception: we are not running a <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/Wikibase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wikibase</span></a> instance, but an ad-hoc server with a Wikibase-compatible data model. We considered moving our entities to a Wikibase instance, but the required federation capabilities aren't quite there yet, or rather, we have quite specific needs, see <a href="https://github.com/inventaire/inventaire/issues/186" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/inventaire/inventai</span><span class="invisible">re/issues/186</span></a></p>
Lokal K<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://mamot.fr/@inventaire" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>inventaire</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.cologne/@Lokal_K" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Lokal_K</span></a></span> I see, would be interesting to have a reconciliation API, so one could reconcile data fields with the Wikibase instance in <a href="https://social.cologne/tags/OpenRefine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenRefine</span></a>. However I realize I need to dig deeper in the data structure to understand what goes where and what comes from where. Federated <a href="https://social.cologne/tags/wikibase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wikibase</span></a> instances are cool, but I have no idea how it works ;-)</p>
