kelsey!Went for a glacier hike today! I’d been once before in October 2021— it’s definitely a different experience in winter! We lucked out with absolutely perfect weather. The glacier herself is gorgeous and shiny and glassy and wild and cold and crunchy and ever changing and feels wholly alive. It felt like SUCH a surreal landscape, almost apocalyptical or moonlike— so dreamy and impersonal, unforgiving and dangerous but draws me in like a siren. kelsey!I’ve been enjoying sharing my art but lemme also introduce myself real quick— My name is Kelsey! A chaotic maximalist with a passion for all things odd, colorful, and delightfully weird. I’m a children’s librarian by day but by night and on weekends, my ADHD brain takes me on all sorts of crafting journeys— Ceramics! Block printing! Cyanotype! Painting! Photography! Collage! You name it, I’m probably interested in it. (Except for fiber arts like knitting or crocheting— love the finished products others create but I have zero talent in that department, lol.) I’m a firm believer in adding kindness and sunshine to the world and treating everyone with empathy and respect— except for the self-absorbed bullies and billionaire fuckwads trying to exploit the world for their own personal gain. Along that same line, I’m a human who supports and advocates for marginalized communities; I’m not here to appeal to TERFs, bigots, assholes, racists, etc. and will happily show you the door rather than engage. I currently live in Anchorage, Alaska, on traditional Dena’ina land. I’m so grateful to call this state home, it feels magical to me in a way no other place has. Besides work and creating art, I enjoy hanging out with my adorably cross-eyed cat named Spookyboots, playing neopets (lol) and Stardew Valley, reading, rewatching the same movies/shows over and over (currently on repeat: Derry Girls), doing puzzles, stuffing my face at Indian buffets, and overall just doing my best to be comfy cozy as much as possible. I’m glad to be here and grateful for all the love I’ve received so far! Hooray for kind, inclusive spaces!
