Hudba na odpoledne.
Kdysi jsem (já vzpupný pitomec) Händela prohlásil za popaře a potom jsem uslyšel Mesiáše a tento žalm a musel jsem se v duchu omlouvat.

Worth hearing...
The photo shows Alexander Goldenweiser's class in the early 1900s, with Feinberg standing on the far right beside his teacher.
The Rite of Spring didn't make an appearance at the #BBCproms until 1947. Was it *that* shocking in 1913? @classicalmusic #ClassicalMusic

Since I've been having a lot of fun adapting classical music to chiptune style, I thought maybe I should follow all the way through and make an entire asset pack for RPG-type games...? Since I'm not composing everything from scratch, it could be very affordable relative to the amount of music. This is "Torrent" by Chopin, which I think sounds very Boss Music...
Cette semaine, à l'occasion du #MercrediPromo, je vous invite à (re)découvrir ma #transcription de "Songe" de Bernard Fleurette pour #alto et #piano (1er cycle). ps. I learn a lot about jazz and classical music (& pianos) from my friend Scott. I’m also a big fan of his forthcoming book about the “secret life of pianos.” If you’re curious go to http://dontshootthepianotuner.com and get his first chapter, free.
I'm more than half-way through moving all my music from YT Music to my own Funkwhale instance: the classical music is taking longer, because I want to make sure I connect the correct artist/album to the correct MusicBrainz record.
As these are my own copies, I cannot open up my instance to federation, so sharing music will be more difficult than through YT Music, but at least no one will benefit from the clicks/engagement
Question for other classifical music lovers: where do you buy your digital versions of (new/old) classical music albums?
Here's my entry for this month's IndieWeb carnival, hosted by @immarisabel!
I was excited for this prompt since it gives me the opportunity to talk about “color” as it relates to musical timbre, and how I like to emphasize those aspects when I write music:

PIANOS HAVE A “SECRET LIFE?”
My good friend Scott is writing about “the secret life of pianos.” He’s the guy who makes sure visiting (& resident) pianists (jazz & classical) in the greater Vancouver area have tuned & tune-worthy rigs. He’s also a heck of a writer.
I’ve read the recent draft of this book and I’m keen to read more —and to share it. DM me if you’re interested. Or get it via http://dontshootthepianotuner.com
ps. This pic is by Scott.

Australian Chamber Orchestra slams ANU plan as 'cultural vandalism'
By Lily Nothling
The Australian Chamber Orchestra's Richard Tognetti has warned that the ANU's plan to axe its School of Music would result in an "act of cultural vandalism", with another Canberra ensemble saying its offer to help has been rejected.
