When planning I had hoped to avoid planes, but I either had to reverse my whole route, or include the three baltic countries and get another ferry from Kleipeda - it became too much so ended up with plane ticket Helsinki-Copenhagen. But otherwise nice feeling getting so far away without flying. Other than environmental benefits it feels more real to travel this way, last evening I saw a 'distance to cities signpost' with Esbjerg 1880 km, that's a long way... <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/FlyingLess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#FlyingLess</a>

This was our last trip to see the in laws before they permanently move closer to us next year and I really hope we can stick to our every other year plans for getting on a plane barring family emergencies.
