Michael Connor Buchan<p>📢 I'd like your help!</p><p>Me and a friend both have old <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/HumanWare" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HumanWare</span></a> <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/BrailleNoteApex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BrailleNoteApex</span></a> <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/NoteTaker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NoteTaker</span></a>'s lying around, and would like to see if we can do anything useful with them. They've been discontinued for some years now, and unfortunately HumanWare never made an SDK for them, but they run Windows CE 6.0 with a custom shell called <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/KeySoft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KeySoft</span></a>, so I am fairly confident that we could develop something for them once we reverse-engineer KeySoft's API.</p>
Florian<p>Anyone who owns a <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/mantis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mantis</span></a> Q40 <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/braille" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>braille</span></a> display noticing that thumb and routing keys are no longer passed onto <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/NVDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NVDA</span></a> after the v2.4 update? Lot of cool stuff, but something seems to have gone screwy <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/screenReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>screenReader</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blind</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/humanware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>humanware</span></a></p>
Dan Gero<p>I have the first generation <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/VicterReaderStream" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VicterReaderStream</span></a>. Does anyone remember the optional Soft Pack Addon you could purchase for additional features? If it's still available somewhere, I'd like to get my hands on it. On first glance it's on the <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/Humanware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Humanware</span></a> website, but the page only says Victer Reader Stream Soft Pack, then 2 unlabeled links that say window.close(); that do nothing when clicked, and their copyright information below that. <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/Accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Accessibility</span></a> <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/A11Y" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>A11Y</span></a> <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/Blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Blind</span></a></p>
Marco Zehe<p>I had a Mantis Q40 Braille display/keyboard combo for testing last year. I used it for about six weeks before I had to send it back. Couldn't afford to buy it at the time. I have since used other displays I own, with varying keyboards as combinations. But I must say, none parallels the integrated experience of the Mantis. Sadly, HumanWare currently don't list any dealers in Germany who carry their Braille products. Which surprises me. But their dealer locator only shows Low Vision products, not Braille. That's a bit disconcerting, since I'd require a German language version. Well, will need to investigate some more.</p><p>That reminds me, do HumanWare have a presence in the <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> yet?</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Braille" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Braille</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MantisQ40" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MantisQ40</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/HumanWare" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HumanWare</span></a></p>
