Great Messiah at Hill tonight. My favorite was the bass baritone, as usual. It was all excellent ( well-- not sure what happened during hallelujah but pretty sure it was the audience's fault) but the "trumpet shall sound" piece was one of the best I've ever heard. The play between the bass and the trumpet was stunning and delicious to the ear.
Dress rehearsal for #Messiah with #syracuse #symphoria today (concert 8pm at Most Holy Rosary).
I don't think it'll ever get old to sing this -- here the end of the dramatic 3 chorus numbers at the end of Part II: Both musically and content wise "This is it"
The parable of the persistent widow
Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” Luke 18.3-5
