US newscaster pronunciation conventions are very surreal to us.Like, we know we're very English in terms of our speech patterns, lexicon, and pronunciations, but it's rare for us to find a different pronunciation this confusing. This avoids the use of the word "Americans", which some non-US people in South America, Central America, and North America think should apply to all people in the Americas. This makes sense to me, and now I often write "USian".I would like also to use the word "USian" in spoken conversation, but I don't know the correct pronunciation.
