Luke<p>Today, for <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> I will high light the new record from German <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/DoomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DoomMetal</span></a> outfit Daevar. Their new record Sub Rosa brings a massive amount of groove to their very good mix of <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/StonerDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StonerDoom</span></a> and <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/DoomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DoomMetal</span></a>. The female vocals also offsets nicely to the rumbling bass. </p><p>👥 Daevar<br>💿 Sub Rosa</p><p><a href="https://album.link/i/1798909945" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">album.link/i/1798909945</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Erik<p>Then there's the slightly smaller version, but with the same big content. </p><p>I actually thought I ordered the CD when I ordered this from Relapse. I don't think I even knew there was a tape version at the time, and tapes weren't much on my mind. The CD was sold out at that point.<br>Funny thing is, I managed to do a similar thing with Masonna, buying the 3x7" believing I bought the CD of "Inner Mind Mystique". <br><a href="https://oslo.town/tags/doomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doomMetal</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/NowPlaying" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NowPlaying</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/tape" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tape</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/metal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>metal</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>saturdoom</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/diSEMBOWELMENT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>diSEMBOWELMENT</span></a></p>

Luke<p>First <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/SaturDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SaturDoom</span></a> of spring in the northern hemisphere and the weather is sunny and warm, this needs to be compensated! Let’s celebrate the genre of <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Doom</span></a> by highlighting favourite tracks using the hashtag <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/SaterDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SaterDoom</span></a>. And introduce some grey clouds and fog to this mix.</p><p>Everything <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> goes, from the harshest <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doomMetal</span></a> to the most slowed down <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/StonerDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StonerDoom</span></a>. Luke<p><a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> dawns upon the world. Today we recognise the beauty that is hidden in the <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> genre of music. From the gurgling depths from the <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/funeralDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>funeralDoom</span></a> that Ahab makes to the <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/psychedelicDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>psychedelicDoom</span></a> trip brought to you by Wolvennest. Buffy Leigh (she/they)<p>After posting, taking down, and reposting 3 times, the latest album spotlight still isn't showing up on the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://1001otheralbums.com/@1001otheralbums.com" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>1001otheralbums.com</span></a></span> Mastodon account. :ablobcatcry: But, it's on the blog! And it's Saturday, so I guess here's a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/SaturDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SaturDoom</span></a> entry! (P.S. HarriO)))<p>It's funny how some music is so strongly connected to a time and place, you know? Today I was listening to Yob's The Great Cessation and I remember vividly the first time I heard it.</p><p>(It was spring and I was walking a dog that was staying with us back in... it must have been 2010... and I was listening to the album - which I had ripped from a CD I had borrowed from a friend - on my mp3 player. I also remember I didn't like it that much at first listen but I came back to it. I'm glad I did because now it's probably on my top 100 albums of all time.)</p><p><a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/YobIsLove" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>YobIsLove</span></a></p><p><a href="https://yobislove.bandcamp.com/album/the-great-cessation-reissue" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">yobislove.bandcamp.com/album/t</span><span class="invisible">he-great-cessation-reissue</span></a></p>

Luke<p>Going very, very slow for this <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> with my pick of Ahab - The Pacific. <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/funeralDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>funeralDoom</span></a> from Germany at its best. Luke<p>As time marches ever on, <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> is upon us again. The passing of time is a great source of existential dread for many, and the <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> genre channels some of that energy to create great music.</p><p>Every Saturday, we highlight some of our favourite tracks, new releases or nice oddballs from the doom genre. Doom is broader than just metal, so please, go wild.</p><p>If you want a good curation of doom tracks follow this hashtag, if you want to contribute feel free to add your own picks to the stream.</p><p>My pick for this week will follow shortly.</p>
Luke<p>How time flies, the last <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> of the year and NL has only seen about 18 hours of sunshine this month. It truly is <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/gloom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gloom</span></a> and <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> out there, with a thick fog to further mute the <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/sunlight" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sunlight</span></a>. Luke<p>The cold is setting in and the days are almost at their shortest they will be. For some the festivities of the season only serve to highlight the oppressing darkness. Wallow in <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> and revel in the darkness on the day where we highlight the very best of music under the umbrella that is <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a>. For when the days are <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/bleak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bleak</span></a> we should have a good <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/pairing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pairing</span></a> of <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a>.</p><p>Follow <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a> for an extensive list of good doom music. Erik<p><a href="https://eeee.no/tags/Saturdoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saturdoom</span></a>: The band I liked the most during the first day of Oslo Deathfest, was the young, Norwegian funeral death/doom band, <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/Gloombound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gloombound</span></a>. With the synth/organ, they make me think of <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/Skepticism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Skepticism</span></a>, and live they also gave me <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/diSEMBOWELMENT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>diSEMBOWELMENT</span></a> vibes. As a bonus, the guitarist wore a <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/Theregothon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Theregothon</span></a> long sleeve. So, they hit all the right spots for me. I look forward to the album, that apparently will be released next year. <br><a href="https://gloomboundband.bandcamp.com/album/astral-exhalation" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gloomboundband.bandcamp.com/al</span><span class="invisible">bum/astral-exhalation</span></a></p><p><a href="https://eeee.no/tags/doomMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doomMetal</span></a> <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/funeralDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>funeralDoom</span></a> <a href="https://eeee.no/tags/OsloDeathfest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OsloDeathfest</span></a></p>
Luke<p>Saturday is upon us again, and while the snowpocalypse slowly melts away, it is still very grey and gloomy outside. The days are dark and the nights long, winter is almost here. Perfect day to celebrate <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/doom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>doom</span></a> in all it’s glory. 13 barn owls in a trenchcoat<p>For <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/SaturDoom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SaturDoom</span></a>, I bring you something you might not expect from me. My Silent Wake is sometimes typified as a Christian metal† band, in common with lead songwriter and lyricist Ian Arkley's previous band, but he firmly resists this categorisation in interviews, and the nearest the band's lyrical themes come are songs the reflect an absence or loss of faith, which is far more philosophically interesting than its presence, for my money.</p><p>As a related aside, can someone in infosec <strong>please</strong> drag Andi Lee onto fedi? I'm reasonably sure I owe him some pints.</p><p>My Silent Wake - Tunnels<br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gpYBD6h-dY" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=5gpYBD6h-d</span><span class="invisible">Y</span></a></p><p>† Not that I object to Christian metal per se, I enjoy that one P.O.D. song as much as anyone.</p>
