10am on a dismal day in September. The Westfjords of can be a difficult place to travel when it rains constantly; a lot of the roads are gravel and the potholes quickly fill with water.
Squelching towards Patreksfjörður, I glanced in the wing mirror back towards Ósafjörður at the end of the fjord, and was rewarded with these gorgeous sunbeams.
The bright hope of a better day to come.

Streaming down from between the heavy clouds are strong sunbeams, in the centre they are striking the opposite shore of the water, on the right they are illuminating the land behind the hillsides, on the left they are streaking away out of shot.
