Whorled

M31 (Messier 31 and NGC 224) also commonly known as the Andromeda Galaxy, the nearest major galaxy to our Milky Way. Two satellite galaxies are also in the frame, M32 (Messier 32 and NGC 221) is on the left and M110 (Messier 110 and NGC 205) is on the right.

A photo of the night sky, packed with stars. In the centre there's an elongated oval from top to bottom and at a slight angle of about five degrees clockwise. It has a bright centre and swirled lanes of dark material can be seen in contrast to the brightness. There are other objects in the frame including two more satellite galaxies on the left and the right. It's majestic, and very impressive.
