This is not a poll but rather an ask for film suggestions. Is there a film that you regularly quote, a film that you loved so much that you just had to buy it on dvd, a film that you remember from your earlier days or a film that is so bad that it is good?
To reiterate: my 2024 resolution is to watch 1-2 films a week. Films that I have never heard of or seen, the so called "classics", or films I chose not to see as they are not "my thing". Yes, I am looking at you #DawnOfTheDead and #DieHard.
I have managed to watch 3 so far this week as I rest in bed with a nasty cold. The gems that are #AfterLife by #HirokazuKoreeda, #LaPiscine starring #AlainDelon and #AFaceInTheCrowd with #AndyGriffith (go on, whistle the tune).
Happy 84th birthday to George Romero! I didn't see any zombies rising by your gravesite in the Necropolis last visit. We'll be celebrating your accomplishments tonight with a rare screening of DAWN OF THE DEAD at the Fox theatre.

@Macabre_ish I hear you on that VHS experience; particularly with grindhouse-esque horror from the 70s and 80s! I almost feel like that sub-optimal quality helps one imagine practical effects as being more horrifying than the Blu-ray remaster shows.

I don't remember what year I first noticed Dawn of the Dead, but I know that the first version I saw was cut to ribbons - and it still blew me away. Right after I ordered (for a shitload of money) a Dutch tape with the European cut and it blew me away even more!
