David Duchovny interviewing Chris Carter on his podcast.

There seems to be absolutely no structure to this conversation, but I found it interesting nevertheless, at least if you care about these people or the X-Files.
Rest in Power #marksnow (Martin Fulterman). One of my Favorite composers. He composed the Original Scores for all Episodes and Films of #TheXFiles , #Millennium many Episodes of #ghostwhisperer , #smallville , #bluebloods , #tjhooker , #harttohart and many, many more. And He co-found the #NewYorkRocknRollEnsemble together with #michaelkamen
Thank You for the many hours of music - especially the X Files who influenced and touched my Heart very much.
Farewell to Mark Snow (1946-2025) — composer of memorable music for TV and film for 50 years.
He literally leaned into THE X-FILES theme on his keyboard after creator Chris Carter rejected previous attempts.
Composer Mark Snow, who created the iconic The X-Files theme, has died at 78. Snow's other notable credits include Millennium, Smallville, The Ghost Whisperer, Blue Bloods, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and The New Mutants.

“A 15-time Emmy nominee, he scored more than 200 episodes of Chris Carter’s spooky Fox series (and both its big-screen incarnations).”
I want to believe.
I'm rewatching the first season of #TheXFiles (yes again) and I love how Scully's field reports are like *in-depth descriptions of specific events with corroborating evidence* and Mulder's field reports are like, "Do you think God, too, remains in heaven in fear of what he's created?"
Today, March 7, in 1992, Dr. Dana Scully and FBI agent Fox Mulder work on their first case together, traveling to northwest Oregon to investigate potential alien abductions (The X-Files, s01e01 “Pilot”, 1993)
Not to forget: #TwinPeaks, largely the result of the collaboration between #DavidLynch and Mark Frost, was a big influence on #TheXFiles: from its sense of weird and mystery, its out-there male FBI agent, its Pacific Northwest setting, its ambition to bring cinema photography and directing to television… all documented in the influences page https://www.eatthecorn.com/influences-1/ -- to which must be added a revival many years later.
New release review: Wolf Man
Ladies and/or gentlemen, Roky Crikenson's finest hour.
Two actors I recognized so far in #StarTrekDS9 with #ChrisCarter creds from that time:
William Lucking: Furel in "Shakaar." Also Roky Crikenson in "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'" from the 3rd season of "The X-Files"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Lucking
Megan Gallagher: Nurse Faith Garland in "Little Green Men." Also Catherine Black in "Millennium" (Frank Black's wife throughout the series).

These two don't seem to have appeared in #Babylon5, but maybe they had enough work.
Dear Mastodon, what is a good instance for genre cinema and television #fandom ? Should I rather stay on a generic instance like this one? In particular #sciencefiction #crime #paranormal #mystery #1990s #2000s (does that count as #retro ?) Looking for something more than just #StarTrek :) Putting some tags here hoping to get replies/boosts #cinemastodon #television #tv #TheXFiles #TwinPeaks #Babylon5 #Stargate #TwilightZone #TheOuterLimits #BSG #Carnivale #Millennium #sff #scifi #fedihelp
Mully and Sculder - Trust everyone
It finally happened today. After over a year’s worth of effort the Great X-Files Rewatch Adventure finally came to an end.
I finished season 11. 11 seasons and two movies and the rewatch is complete.
Now what?
Part of me wants to go back to Star Trek. Jen and I started watching Voyager. I already rewatched Deep Space Nine. the original series and The Next Generation have both been rewatched numerous times in the past. Do I want to rewatch one of those again? Maybe. I don’t know. Enterprise? I don’t know. I was really not liking that show in the last year or so. Maybe I should give it another try?
Maybe I’ll poke around Netflix looking for some science fiction and if I don’t find anything that jumps out at me I’ll give Enterprise another look.
I’ll let you know.
Lately I've been both watching Millennium for the first time, Chris Carter's other series, and I've been slowly watching a total playthrough of the X Files PS1 FMV game. So I was inspired to break out the only physical copy of something X Files related that I owned, and felt a lot better than when it first came out!

The Great X-Files Rewatch Adventure has reached an important moment. Season nine episode 19. The first half of what was expected to be the series finale. Let’s ignore for the moment that they made a second movie a few years later, and then added two new seasons many years later. This was supposed to be it. A two part series finale.
And it was not good.
I mean, I remember it being okay but not nearly good enough. They had a chance to end it with a bang but instead they just failed to stick the landing. They failed to give the show the send off it deserved.
Now, in 2024, let’s see if it was as meh as I remember it. After that, I’ll watch the second movie for the first time since Jen and I saw it in the theater in 2008 (I think).
