Southbound traffic doesn't understand why it's not moving.
Got news for them: it's not the protestors blocking their route.

It's very protesty out today.
Already been doing legal support for hours, and still have 2 more to go.
Small break while someone gets in the van after overheating a bit.
Here are some signs from earlier, too.
ASL interpreters make the chants accessible to those in the accessibility van.
So very, very glad not to be at Corporate Pride this year.
I don't even understand the point of watching company after company parade past.
Gonna be a long, hot week.
And I don't just mean the weather.
Cops doing a banger job of crowd control today. Been watching a fight between Iranian factions for 10 minutes now, no cops down here because they're all up at the front, feeling important.
Get in front of potential issues with friends, roommates, and family saying or doing the wrong thing when it comes to dealing with the cops.
Make time to have a few key conversations with key people.
Spent a lovely afternoon at the one year anniversary of the very short-lived York University encampment.
It promised to be crappy seeing THIS from across the way, but he was very quickly chased away, and it became a great day of tabling and recruiting, and chilling with good people.

Police brutality is designed to make people feel alone and afraid to show up to fight systems of oppression.
We created a whole-assed new org so that we can expose the violence they casually mete out and that we've been watching for years.
We're especially seeking reports from the police violence that took place at Casa Loma on May 27, 2025.
Also:
Please check in on comrades who have been assaulted by the cops. They're likely experiencing shame and self-doubt, which takes a toll on people's mental and physical health.
We only have each other.
We need more organizers to be cognizant about the threat protests can unintentionally bring to vulnerable people in the broader community in the form of the police escort.
One last song before we march.
Union Thugs killing it.

Mic check with Union Thugs.
We seem to be capped at 6.
Not going to lie, somewhat underwhelmed by the theme of "Birthday Party for the Charter of Rights", but it definitely brought out the media.
Let's see how many useless cops they send to protect the backdrop of this protest.
Th City of Toronto is holding a "public"
consultation on establishing protest bubbles, zones around buildings and services considered "vulnerable".
I have mentioned in the past, that the city was fine when those buildings were ACTUALLY being targeted by protesters, as long as they were white. But now, people are marching past the same buildings, LITERALLY the same buildings, and suddenly: it's a problem.
Other "vulnerable" buildings, religious institutions, are not simply used for religious gatherings and ceremony. They function as community hubs, where plans are made to address and equities in the system. Black churches were where civil rights campaigns were planned. And they were bombed by white people.
But that's not what is happening now, in 2025. Religious buildings are being used to hold events that are criminal, according to international law.
Protests outside of those buildings are not protesting religious ceremonies. There is no parallel to be drawn with Black churches being targeted by white malevolence.
And let's imagine that a parallel were justifiably to be drawn:
There are no laws on the books designed to protect Black, Indigenous, or brown bodies. There are only laws designed to protect capital and those who control it.
We are the ones who will be targeted by this new by-law.
And if you doubt that, just note the deeply racist way in which this consultation has been implemented.
I invite you not to participate in the farcical display that is this "public consultation"
but rather to email engagement@toronto.ca and let them know that you have seen their trickery for what it is, and to call Councillor James Pasternak, who has championed this bit of theatre, at: 416-392-1371 or email him at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca
In case you're wondering why I've been so silent lately, we've been working on a response to the City basically telling Black, Indigenous, and other racialized people to kindly die quietly.
Expect us all to get a LOT less quiet in the next couple of days.
Well, that was quite the day.
Back at the encampment, where the City took 2 tents and terrified one more resident into leaving (and then stole a bunch of his belongings as he took a load of his stuff elsewhere ).
Considered stopping by one more action on the way home, but it's apparently been cancelled.
Home it is, then.
Willis will be happy with that.
