You are wrong about there being a Slackware release this year, there was a Pre Beta release for 15.1: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/slackware/slackware64-current/ChangeLog.txt thats updated almost daily in the Slackware current branch but there was no actual stable release since Slackware 15 in February 2022
