Treasure Island, August 1940
GGIE (Golden Gate International Exposition) had transportation called the Elephant Train, this fellow on a real elephant tried to get you to ride it. Winterland, 1960
An Elevated view north toward the corner of Steiner & Post, Winterland and on the far corner, the Uptown Theatre. I remember wriggling through the gate one night & seeing huge blocks of concrete dangling from the roof while it was being demolished (probably a bad idea...both the demolition and to wriggle through the gate) #sfhistory #sfmemory

Mission Bay Aerial, 1956
I went to the National Archives in San Bruno & scanned aerial views ringing San Francisco Bay. This 1956 shot helps my research immensely because (just look at it) so much has changed. Notable here are the SP & Santa Fe railyards, Western Pacific Tunnel, Pier 70 #sfhistory #sfmemory

Fillmore & Eddy, April 28, 1969
I had this fantastic Cecil Hurd photo of an unknown event in the Fillmore, police arresting a man with a crowd gathered on the street.
