This week’s, and some from last week, #PlantMail potted up. It was an epic effort done over two sessions with a break in between and will be my last for a while unless I win lotto without buying a ticket!

The newbies this week are:

- Echeveria Madiba Bumps (my 1st on died so this is my last attempt)
- Echeveria Culibra
- Echeveria Highlander (long been on the wishlist and officially my most expensive plant)
- Echeveria Gibbiflora Carunculata
- Echeveria Violacina (a seasonal bumpy)
- Echeveria White Rose
- Euphorbia Obesa (I’ve wanted one for ages)
- Echeveria Potosina
- Echeveria Pink Bluebird
- Graptoveria Paraguayense Bernalese
- Plectranthus Tormentosa (Vicks plant - smells like Vicks Vaporub)
- Echeveria Low (maybe, it was a free gift)

Top: Echeveria Madiba Bumps is an odd looking plant. It has green leaves with lighter green rippled edges that generally come to a broad point. The leaves are thick and grow in layers on top of each other, each layer down being larger than the one above. The leaves have bumps on them that are like round upward protrusions. Bottom left: Echeveria Culibra has thick, light green leaves with purple bumps on them. The leaves do form a bath rosette shape but it can be difficult to see because if the way they twist and turn with the bumps and the leaves curl under. Bottom right: Echeveria Highlander is another bumpy plant with gorgeous, thick, purple leaves that are light green in the centre at the growth points. The rosette shape is not pronounced and the bumps are more random in shape, size and position. The lowest leaves that are starting to slowly die off are a pretty orange towards the edges.
Top: Echeveria Gibbiflora Bumps is a tiny thing now but will grow quite big. She’s got pretty, thick purple leaves that are currently almost spade shaped. One of the inner leaves has a couple of small bumps on it. That leaf is also slightly light green, which indicates that it’s a growing point. It’s in a very loose rosette shape. Bottom left: Echeveria Violacina remind me a little of last week’s Valkyrie but without the bumps on the underside. She has more upturned leaves in purple and green with some orange on the lower leaves and her rosette is more pronounced. The leaves almost curl in on themselves a little. Bottom right: Echeveria White Rose has two heads next to each other that have taller leaves with small red claws at the tops. The leaves are orange on the outside and green on the inside and are in a more closed rosette shape.
Top: Euphorbia Obesa looks like a little green/grey beach ball, although I understand Americans call it the baseball plant. It has alternating seams that are either fully indented in a single line or like a row of perfectly spaced divots. Bottom left: Echeveria Potosina is a towering succulent so she doesn’t have a stem and just keeps growing new layers of leaves, which are more yellow on the outside and pink on the inside if the tight rosette. You can see the finger marks where the farina (white powdery coating) has been disturbed. Bottom right: Echeveria Pink Bluebird is another towering succulent but is flatter than the Potosina and has longer thicker leaves with mid pink edges and pale blue body of the leaves. It’s also in a rosette shape and this one has a tiny pink baby growing to the left.
Top: Graptoveria Paraguayense Bernalese has khaki leaves that are lighter green at the centre at the growth points. The leaves are in a flatter rosette and slightly downturned at the edges. There are the loose leaves in the pot that will hopefully produce babies. Bottom left: Plectrantus Tormentosa is also called Vicks Plant and smells like Vicks Vaporub if you run up against it. It grows long thin branches covered with tiny leaves that form almost a five pointed star. The leaves are currently a beautiful pale purple, with a pinkish tinge but dependent on season and light conditions/plant stress can change to a pretty bright, light green. Bottom right: Echeveria Low is very similar to the White Rose but with slightly rounder leaves and shorter claws. The colouring is the same.

Despite the physical changes and now just wanting to curl up in my bed and cry, I did manage to get my #PlantMail potted up today.

This week’s newbies are:

- Echeveria Sea Dragon
- Echeveria Ballerina
- Echeveria Tolimanensis Hybrid
- Echeveria Laui x Strictiflora Nova
- Echeveria Edgy

I also repotted my Echeveria Neon Breakers that was bursting out of her pot with lots of babies. I forgot to get a pic before she went back out under the frost cloth but she looks little in her new pot despite desperately needing the size upgrade.

I went more than a little overboard online plant shopping this week so next week’s post will be a big one!

Echeveria Sea Dragon has thick wavy looking leaves that are light, vibrant green in the centre and a deep, dusty pink on the edges and lower leaves. The newer leaves are almost completely green. The leaves are almost in flat layers on top of each other and have bumps looking like thick mashed potato on the outer of the leaves, which have frilled edges. Echeveria Ballerina has deep, dusty pink leaves with red edges that get lighter towards the centre of the plant. The leaves are frilly and in a loose rosette shape. The photo is on a pale pink background with white polka dots.
Echeveria Tolimanensis hybrid has long, slender leaves with pointed tips that are light blue/green in a rosette shape. The tips have pointy claws on them. The photo is on a pale pink background with white polka dots.
Top: Echeveria Laui x Striciflora Nova has blue/green inner leaves with a pink tone to the outer leaves. The leaves are thick and in a tight rosette formation. There’s a small pup (baby plant) at the base on the right. Bottom: Echeveria Edgy has mid green inner leaves that tend to red on the outside layers. They are rounder at the edges but still come to somewhat if a point at the tips. It’s in a looser rosette formation. The pictures are on a pale pink background with white polka dots.

It’s my birthday week so I spoiled myself with plants. They got potted up today.

My mum and a friend are coming to visit this weekend and I can’t wait to show them all my plants.

The newbies are:

Clockwise from left: Echeveria Doublette has rounder, thick leaves in a tighter rosette that blend from green in the centre to purple at the frilly edges. Echeveria Calico Cream has brighter green leaves in the centre and more khaki outer leaves. They have orange frilly edges and are in a loose rosette shape. The leaves are rounder with a couple of larger leaves across from each other. Echeveria Zanadoo has large purple/brown leaves that are lighter green at the very centre. There are a few newer, smaller leaves in the centre and a number of larger leaves in the outer layer that all form a loose rosette.
Clockwise from top: Echeveria unknown bumpy has bright red leaves on the outside that become more maroon and then green at the centre. The leaves are frilly and in a rosette. There’s also a small baby plant to the right of the mother plant growing off the same stem. Echeveria Flying Cloud has long, thin, pale pink and green variegated leaves that curl up loosely towards the centre of the plant. Echeveria Hakuhou has thick, pale yellow/orange outer leaves and pale green inner leaves. They’re more spade shaped and tend to grow in pairs on opposing sides, with the next pair filling the gaps.
Clockwise from top: Echeveria Lotus Lantern is in a tight rosette with small leaves that are green with thick, red edges. It appears to be a towering succulent, where rather than growing a long stem, the leaves grow in ever increasing layers. M Echeveria Dark Rose hybrid is much darker in person than the camera captured. It is also in a tight rosette and has dark purple leaves with “claws” on the tips of each leaf. Echeveria Blue Peacock is again a tighter rosette. It has paler purple outer leaves and darker purple and white centre with an almost gelatinous look in some spots.
Top: Echeveria Winter Jasmine has chubby, pale peach coloured leaves in the outer layers and pale green in the centre. The leaves are more spear shaped and form a looser rosette. Bottom: Conophytum Bilobum is a cluster of small plants that are mid green with a reddish line across the top. The line is broken by a dip in the top of the plant that makes them look almost heart shaped. There are nine plants in the cluster.

This week’s #PlantMail potted up. I also repotted my Echeveria Benimusume, which I posted earlier. That one I’d been dreading doing.

Then we went for a drive around town to charge my car battery, which keeps dying, and of course stopped for the requisite Saturday Bunnings sausage sanga.

- Graptoveria Pink Rose was love at first sight.

- Euphorbia Lactea Cristata looks much less variegated than in the sales photo so I’ve left the “Variegata” out of the name.

- Echeveria Madiba was leaf grown from one with bumps (not by me) but not really showing any true signs of bumps at this stage.

Graptoveria Pink Rose is a loose rosette shaped succulent with almost long spade shaped leaves that vary in colour from grey to a vibrant pink. There are three heads, each on a separate stem.
Euphorbia Lactea Cristata looks almost like coral in varying shades of green. It twists and turns upon itself and has edges that have uneven serration almost like a bread knife. They are beige chopsticks on either side of the plant to help it stand up until the roots are established enough for it to stand up properly on its own.
Echeveria Madiba Bumps is an almost light khaki colour with pink tips. The leaves are in an almost star shaped alternating rows pattern and there are some markings on some of the leaves that look like bumps may be starting to form.

This week’s #PlantMail potted up. It’s been a tough week with the #LongCovid fatigue hitting me particularly hard so they didn’t get potted up until yesterday afternoon despite having all arrived by Thursday.

- Echeveria Dream Fantasia

- Echeveria Purple Delight Variegata (cutting)
- Echeveria Purple Delight Reverse Variegata (They are a whole lot lighter in person than the sales pictures and may not survive due to lack of colour through which to photosynthesise. Usually you’d leave practically albino ones like this on the mother plant)
- Echeveria Morning Light

Top: Echeveria Dream Fantasia has thick in texture but more slender leaves in a loose rosette that are a blend of pale herb and pink with pink edges. Bottom: Echeveria Pagoda has several rows of smaller leaves with bumps on them that make them appear thicker. The leaves are in a rosette form and range in colour from pale green in the centre to orange/red on the outer layers.
Top: Pachyphytum Bubblegum is a succulent with small, chubby leaves in rosette formation. There are about five tightly spaced heads with leaves ranging in colour from light green to red/orange on the outer leaves. Bottom: Cotelydon Choco Line has a smaller bunch of leaves in various shapes and sizes in no specific formation. The leaves are mid green with brown edges that have a slight ripple to them.
Top: Echeveria Purple Delight Variegata is a rosette shaped plant with pale pink leaves that have a green strip down the centre of each leaf. There are also two single leaves in the pot that has to be removed from the cutting so there was enough stem to plant. Hopefully they’ll produce babies. Bottom: Echeveria Purple Delight Reverse Variegata has two separate stems with each with a head of very, very pale leaves in a rosette shape. One has a hint of pink at the Center and the other is almost completely ivory. While pretty to look at they may not survive due to their lack of colour.

They have spade shaped leaves in a rosette that range in colour from the centre of bright green, through pale khaki/brown to orange in the outer layer. #PlantMail from this week. I bought a pack of 7 frillies and bumpies that came with an extra as a gift, plus one more that was held over from the week before due to getting rained on at the last minute.

It was a bigger than usual potting night and my body complained loudly so it’s taken a couple of days to get these posted. I have an extension going on my stands on Tuesday to make room for these (and more) plus they’re being winterised as well so hopefully I won’t lose any this winter to frost

Clockwise from top: Echeveria Mauna Loa - she has five or six almost fan like leaves. The older leaves are red and the newer leaves are still green. Echeveria Pagoda - she has I think four heads with stubby leaves that range in colour from light to dark green in a rosette shape. The leaves have small bumps and curl over a little at the edges. She gets her name as she looks like she’s providing shelter from the elements. Echeveria Rosa Lee - she has large red leaves that look a little like elephant ears in the way they stick out to the sides. As she matures she’ll grow into a beautiful frilly cabbage.
Top: Echeveria Verrugas - she has large leaves that together look like a large open pansy. They’re red at the edges, which are frilly, and brighter green the closer you get to the centre. A couple of them have small bumps on them. Bottom: Echeveria New Heights - her leaves are more triangular and a darker green, but slightly lighter in the centre and in a loose rosette formation. Some of the leaves have tiny bumps on them.
Top: Echeveria Raggamuffin - kinda living up to her name the plant looks a little scraggly with some longer and some shorter leaves, all lighter green with reddish edges. She refused to stay upright without the help of some plastic chopsticks. Bottom: Echeveria Baccarus - similar to the ragamuffin, she had some longer and some shorter leaves but she’s bigger and her leaves are more of a browned green with red frilly edges.
Top: Echeveria Allouette - she’s a very frilly plant spray with brighter green leaves with yellowish orange edges. There are a couple of holes and scars on the bottom leaves. Bottom: Echeveria Cottage Garden - she’s almost like the hard inner leaves of a lettuce with mid green leaves with red edges, some of which are just starting to show frills.

Aeonium Greenovia Egg Rose - an “it’s cute, cheap and I might as well as it to my order” purchase

Echeveria Shallot Rose - a generous gift from a seller

Echeveria Thousand Paper Cranes - also been on my wishlist for almost a year and only the second time I’ve seen it for sale. I fell in love both for the look and the name. Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes was one of my favourite books as a kid.
