It's less than two weeks until the Spring Equinox (Ostara), the date when night and day are of equal length. It's wonderful to see everything gearing up for the year: we're watching birds chase one another in courtship (and territorial disagreements!), green shoots beginning to appear on shrubs and trees, and early Spring flowers blooming!

So here are just a few of our favourite cards of the season :) Art by Samantha Symonds, Rachel Blackwell, Sam Cannon and Amanda Clark.

Happy Ishtar

The word Easter appears to be derived not from Ishtar, but from the German Eostre, the goddess of the dawn—a bringer of light.

Ishtar and Easter appear to be homophones: they may be pronounced similarly, but have different meanings.

Don't believe every meme.
