long shot, but do I know anyone who has a spare set of watch band pins for the #casio #f84w ? (or #f91w , etc) (18mm band, non-spring push through pin with a little groove at one end)
I can just order a set, but it seems ridiculously expensive.
also, digital watch modding folks, what kind of paint do you use for the inside of the crystal? and is there data on different backlight mods people have tried?
Also if you want a universal time you can already do that by offering a time in UTC. Anyway it is still fun and you still find occasional references to it on the internet and in software. Here is one of my #Casio F-91Ws using @joeycastillo's super cool #SensorWatch module to show a time in .beats.
After 41 minutes and 57 seconds of uptime, the firmware froze.
While I was unscrewing the case to press the reset button on the board, the display started fading.
That's not too surprising: the original lithium battery was outputting 2.7V (as opposed to 3V).
I'll go buy a new CR2016. The expected battery life for the #SensorWatchPro is 1 year, while the original #Casio board typically lasts 7 years.
With the screwdriver that came with my eye glasses repair kit, I disassembled the watch, revealing the original #casio circuit board, one of the seven wonders of 1980's consumer electronics.
My Sensor Watch Pro just arrived!
Time to take apart my Casio wristwatch to install it! ...as soon as I can find my tiny philips screwdriver.
The F-105W is a simple, reliable classic that just works. For all who like the F-91W but want to actually see the time in the dark: It lights up bright with a blue backlight. I think Maggie Q wears one as LAPD Detective Renée Ballard.
I just ordered a Sensor Watch Pro for my #Casio watch:

Actually, my current Casio watch is a A700W. If the new board doesn't fit, I can get an F-91W in Tokyo for about $10 (¥1500) from any Bic Camera store.

New #blogpost!
#Casio's website was a bit borked when I ordered from there, but things ended up well for me! I think.
This is day 94 of #100DaysToOffload

One month ago I picked up a second wristwatch (anticipating summer sweat and knocks): A digital Casio discounted to $17 at Walmart. This turns out to be the most freakishly accurate watch I've ever owned—running a good 2 orders of magnitude better than the claimed "±30 seconds per month." I recall some watch discussion here and I may be a new Casio fan. https://www.time.gov
Just ordered a #Casio A168 for my dad whose birthday is coming soon, a Casio LA700 for my sister cuz she just graduated, and a Casio A130 for me... cuz I'm a good brother and son?
My birthday coupon still worked, which rocks!
#WristCheckWednesday Wearing the #Casio DBC32 today - the CA53W's older, nerdier cousin
Holy moly! This watch is a real bargain!
