Semantic Kernel and Microsoft-Extensions-AI: Better Together, Part 1.
The mad thing is that this isn't stupid use of #LLMs in some niche area. It's stupid use of LLMs with globally catastrophic consequences.
This is Microsoft having CoPilot seek the goal that false equals true in the ADO part of the .NET runtime, a system that is used by vast numbers of middlewares and back-end systems around the planet.

This is the expression parser for selection filters on System.Data.DataTable.
The amount of people such recklessness would affect is mind-numbing.
The recent attempts to use copilot for making contributions to core dotnet have the same level of quality I expect from a big consulting firm like Accenture or Deloitte: says it does something, doesn’t do it right, needs constant hand holding for basic things and wastes the time of multiple people who could’ve done the work themselves in a fraction of the time, and ignores everyone except the original key contact (person who wasted time engaging with it).
Well done!
Somehow I can't even laugh about the M$ #github #dotnet #copilot debacle.
It's just sad. I'm thinking of the accruing environmental, human and social costs of the machines that are dumping slop onto everyone's lives.
Also, a company that has the power to decide at a whim that billions will suddenly have to worry about private conversations being screenshotted to be mined for more slop, and to strong-arm whole countries to run their rotten and snooping systems, simply has no right to exist.

Watching Microsoft employees publicly struggle to convince Copilot PR bot to stop writing bullshit on the .NET repo is the funniest (and scariest) thing I've seen this week.
I've had really low expectations about AI coding, but the results are way worse than I expected :D

Code reviews aren’t just about finding bugs.
They’re about building better engineers.
Ask why, not just what
Focus on clarity, not cleverness
Suggest improvements, not insults
Good reviews build great teams.
