my latest bio for #WikipediaAsianMonth ; I was focusing on internees at the Dutch camp at Boven Digoel but I realized the guy who founded and built the camp did not have an article. Laurens Theodorus "Theo" Becking (1887–1945); he was quite a piece of work, a fascist leader in the NSB in the 1930s and interned by the Dutch in a camp in Surinam during WWII, where he died.

The “Morspoort” is a gate that played a significant role in the history of Leiden, particularly during “Leidens Ontzet” or Leiden's Relief. On October 3rd, 1574, during the 80 Years War, Dutch rebels led by William of Orange liberated Leiden from the Spanish siege. Every year, the Morspoort serves as one of the starting points of the traditional 3 Oktober festival.
