Cemeteries are like cities. One wanders through abandoned paths among weathered columns and mausoleums. Ivy climbs like a green network of life upon crumbling stone. Sunlight falls through tree canopies, painting patterns on forgotten names. Time stands still yet transforms everything. In this silence lies a strange comfort – stone witnesses tell stories as visitors walk between past and present, fleeting guests in an eternal city.

Friedhöfe sind wie Städte. Man streift durch verlassene Pfade zwischen verwitterten Säulen und Mausoleen. Efeu rankt sich wie ein grünes Netz des Lebens an brüchigem Stein empor. Sonnenlicht fällt durch Baumkronen, zeichnet Muster auf vergessene Namen. Die Zeit steht still und wandelt doch alles. In dieser Stille liegt seltsamer Trost – steinerne Zeugen erzählen Geschichten, während Besucher zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart wandern, flüchtige Gäste in einer ewigen Stadt.

I saw Three Dog Night in Wichita, KS in '81, their reunion tour. It was a small venue, about 250 people, indoors, and I was 6 feet away from the stage. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

And when I made it out to Needles, I thought of that concert.

That time I was a very bad daughter, in 1991.

My parents bought our family home in early 1991. At that time, they both worked 2 jobs, including a nighttime janitorial couples job at local government offices. I was in my early troublesome teen era. I threw a party at our home & invited only my friends from 3 different high schools. The word got out & every single high school crowd had found out about it. Our street had hundreds of teens arriving, almost all at once. I was flabbergasted & didn't know what to do because people wouldn't leave. Several had invaded my bedroom & messing my stuff up. parents came home. They were freaking out. My Mom picked up her broom & started yelling & literally sweeping people out with broom. 6 cop cars arrived because neighbours called. Everyone scattered. I jumped in a car with 3 friends & met up with others at Layritz Park. Where we then set up a random obstacle course & did races at it for 2 hours before cops came to chase us off. We ended up at Durrance Lake & skinnydipped by moonlight.

I was grounded for 2 weeks & had my driving privileges revoked for a month. I deserved it for being an irresponsible little shit.
