I started seeing occasional ripples on my prints that looked like ringing but a little not? and today I printed something for someone that looked like ringing but was literally in the middle of a long-X-axis path and repeating on every layer despite the shape of the object not conforming to that repeat _at all_

and now I know a new way to diagnose a bad wheel bearing!

the good news is moving the bad one to the underside of the X-axis gantry solved it for now. also one of the other wheels is on its way out too. :/

the other good news is that these are cheap, but it's annoying that I lost one bearing entirely and was losing a second at the same time.

Things you have to see to believe. My #Ender3v2 had four failed #3Dprinting jobs because of the infamous "thermal runaway". After lots of head scratches and failed attempts to fix, I said "what the heck, I have nothing to lose" and started running a space heater blowing up into the printer. Lo and behold it prints! The printer was just feeling cold! 🤣

Last year I mentioned to my wife that an old shipmate of mine had got into #3dprinting. She quickly told me that I shouldn't get any ideas of doing the same. I was (unusally for me) easily persuaded that she was right due in part to an impending downsizing house move.
So on Christmas day I was somewhat surpised that she had bought me an #Ender3V2 printer.
Complications with the house purchase put me in a bad place and today I have just opened the box for the first time.
