Schutzblechhalterung kaputt. Dank #3ddrucker #ender3v2 schnell was aus TPU gebastelt, und gleich noch einen #natenom Spritzschutz dazu.

I started seeing occasional ripples on my prints that looked like ringing but a little not? and today I printed something for someone that looked like ringing but was literally in the middle of a long-X-axis path and repeating on every layer despite the shape of the object not conforming to that repeat _at all_
and now I know a new way to diagnose a bad wheel bearing!
the good news is moving the bad one to the underside of the X-axis gantry solved it for now. also one of the other wheels is on its way out too. :/
the other good news is that these are cheap, but it's annoying that I lost one bearing entirely and was losing a second at the same time.
Heute ist nicht #caturday, aber das sind ja auch keine echten Katzen. Plätzchenform aus dem #3Ddrucker. Denn auch nach Weihnachten kann man weiterbacken, und es müssen keine Engelchen mehr sein...
oh dang it looks so fucking good
this is actually difficult at this scale (14mm the long way)
Things you have to see to believe. My #Ender3v2 had four failed #3Dprinting jobs because of the infamous "thermal runaway". After lots of head scratches and failed attempts to fix, I said "what the heck, I have nothing to lose" and started running a space heater blowing up into the printer. Lo and behold it prints! The printer was just feeling cold!
Hey #3DPrinter,
What's going on here?
Underextrusion? Wet filament? Wrong z-offset?
Any suggestions? Help appreciated!
discovering the dumb way that my slicer is not aware of my extensively upgraded ender 3 V2's printsafe-to-edge modifications
definitely need to fix that though it won't really hurt anything on this print since I think it's only cutting off brim
This feels like the 3D printing equivalent of human transmutation, but! I figured a DUPLO block would be a good test of print quality and tolerances. And I am pretty happy with it!
Last year I mentioned to my wife that an old shipmate of mine had got into #3dprinting. She quickly told me that I shouldn't get any ideas of doing the same. I was (unusally for me) easily persuaded that she was right due in part to an impending downsizing house move.
So on Christmas day I was somewhat surpised that she had bought me an #Ender3V2 printer.
Complications with the house purchase put me in a bad place and today I have just opened the box for the first time.
Might be time for an #introduction, since I've just built my own #mastodon #instance and #migrated over.
Very much into #DND, I run a #DND5E game a few times a month for some friends, just about to finish up #SunlessCitadel.
Of course #dming requires lots of #3dPrinting, so that's become another hobby on top of #modularSynths and the #music I try to write, when I can.
