@conjurenation Exactly this is what I'm doing, I buy commercial products. My moaning is also not so much about #FOSS vs. #ProprietarySoftware, it is about the attitude that people not understanding what I need for my work tend to tell me that I'm just not smart enough to use some unsuitable tool that can also in the sidelines possibly do what I perhaps need. This is not how to advertise #media #production on #linux.

That's what it's called, right? #proprietarysoftware, like the agency's own tracker app, written by their own developers. I hate it. I really wish I could be free of it. There's good reason to have it, of course. But it's more of a nuisance to me than anything.

Another barrier is incompatibility. Like #Photoshop -- if you use a different brand we can't exchange PSDs. Or templates for #DaVinciResolve vs #AdobePremiere. Any workaround is too cumbersome.

I could learn so much that #ProprietarySoftware is often #malware. I hope both Microsoft and Apple kindly change their products to be Free Software and remove all malwares inside them.

@sneak another sound reason to #AvoidApple. Of course the same holds for other #proprietarysoftware and #proprietaryOs that has similar restrictions, so most unrooted Android phones fall into this description. #privacy and #freedom come first
