Way too many ad breaks in this Pluto TV "Three Days of the Condor" presentation. I should've looked to see if I could get it on Kanopy or Hoopla, but I have a certain level of respect for whomever decided to put one of the ad breaks in the middle of the weird sex scene.

That's extremely funny!

Ghost sign for Glasgow's Stirling's Public Library on 54 Miller Street. Established in 1791 using a bequest from Walter Stirling, which included his books and his house at 7 Miller Street, this was one of the first public libraries in the city. Since then, the library has move to a number of locations around the city (including here at 54 Miller Street) and can currently be found in the basement of the Gallery of Modern Art on Royal Exchange Square.

One bike is in the shop. Backup bike is currently without a chain. Checked out a bicycle from the Rushford Public Library. Adjusted and tightened loose seat after I got home.

Went for a pleasant jaunt around town.

Pleasant after I adjusted to using coaster brakes. A little terrifying when my hand gripping did nothing, nothing I tell you!

I now ❤️ handgrip brakes so much more.

Dr. Hayden became the #librarian of #Congress after a lengthy run as the chief librarian in #Baltimore, her longtime home, where she had overhauled the city’s struggling public #library system.

She had known #Obama since her early days as a librarian working in the #Chicago #PublicLibrary. She started as a librarian in Chicago in 1973 & ultimately became the city’s chief librarian.

But she harbored a special appreciation for the #LibraryOfCongress, which she called a “treasure chest.”

- The new PBS Independent Lens documentary about America's public library system arrives with a very clever, two-edged title: Free for All: The Public Library.

The "Free for All" part refers, of course, to the beauty and generosity of the library system, which lends books, for free, to virtually anyone. But "Free for All" also refers to the many fights surrounding that idealistic institution: fights against segregated libraries; the banning of books; tax cuts and local library closures; targeted reductions of federal funds; and, quite recently and famously, "Drag Queen Story Hour."
