Spycop HN85 Roger Pearce 'Roger Thorley' infiltrated anarchist groups 1979-84. He gave evidence to the spycops public inquiry in July 2024. The Inquiry hasn't posted video of him being questioned on its YouTube channel, so we've posted it on ours.

Thorley wrote anti-police articles while undercover. Afterwards he became a Special Branch manager before retiring in 2003 to write awful novels.

Helen Steel was 22 when she fell in love with John Barker. Except he wasn't real - he was actually Special Demonstration Squad officer John Dines who'd stolen the identity of a boy who'd died of leukaemia aged 8.

They were living together, then John suddenly disappeared. Helen knew something wasn't right and did pioneering detective work that brought the spycops scandal out into the light.
