Thinking some more about all the mobile devices getting replaced in Aotearoa (and maybe elsewhere?) because they're not fully compatible with 4G calling. I wonder how difficult it would be to combine 2 of them and make a single clamshell device?

The Jumperless probe has some of the most interesting engineering solutions I've seen in a soldering kit.
Using DuPont connectors in the ZIF socket made it wear out a bit. The first three positions don't grip as tightly as they should. So I modified my component tester. Now it has a three pin DuPont socket at the top. I like how it looks.
I should've done it from the beginning.

Speaking of #HardwareHacking, there's a great, slow and steady, tutorial on creating a #KiCAD project from scratch. It's a TCAL9539 breakout, but can be applied to most other projects you may be working on
Best of all, it goes through the library creation process, which lets you reuse your custom components/layouts elsewhere
This was, and IMHO still is, the best tutorial to get started with KiCAD. Mostly because it gets to the basics very quickly, yet clearly, and it's relatively recent so the approach still works with few changes in 9.0, even though the video is for 7

So the DEFCON 32 badge can be repurposed into a hardware hacking multi-tool. I flashed the custom firmware FREE-WILi created for the badge. It is limited since I don’t have all available GPIO pins that the Raspberry Pico does but do have some, USB serial, and I2C control. It seems like a bus pirate variant maybe? Someone with actual hardware hacking experience can correct me on that.
