This makes sense as I was a full time #freelance writer a the time but I still wouldn't have thought that the difference would be that stark!

I haven't been in Twitter for awhile and I'm pushing a big fundraiser so figured it's a waste of resources to not push there, while I still have access to it.

But in this time I was away, owner of the platform has gone from "I pretend to support Ukraine" to full "I'm gonna spread russian propaganda openly and try to get you all killed by withdrawing support"

For the love of God, please try to get your friends to switch to whatever, even Threads will be better at this point.

Vanity never sleeps. Though I'm quite content with my new SoMe home here on Mastodon, I still pine after being able to casually mention my almost 19,000 twitter followers. This is, stupid AF, obviously, but no less real for being stupid.

have no idea what am getting back on my #TwitterArchives but am putting it out there as a warning:

if you got archives, check to see if you actually got all your audio & video media back. am seeing how they're obfuscating URIs & you may have gotten a JPEG and not MP4s.

needed web developer tools to run a search on .mp4 thru the trash heap of code they're using to obfuscate all media URIs and then scrape that shit the old school way
