Right, so, I now have a recovery image, and the @frameworkcomputer laptop will boot from the recovery image on a USB drive. I can decrypt and mount my root disk, and check it over; it seems undamaged. But when I try to boot without the recovery USB drive, after I enter the decryption key for my root drive I get this screen.

It doesn't look like an @Debian screen to me; is this coming from the #framework13 bios?

I found this kernel module github.com/DHowett/framework-l that exposes the Framework 16 (and 13; hopefully it works on the 12 when that comes out) to expose some extra battery controls. This lets you set the maximum charge directly from KDE's power settings, for example, to extend battery life if you keep your laptop plugged in most of the time.

Much more convenient than adjusting it via the BIOS.

Giving GNOME a chance on my new Framework 13 laptop. Last time I tried it was around 7 years ago, and it's much better than I remember.

But some ridiculous things keep popping up — like the fact that I still can’t adjust the touchpad scroll speed. What the heck? libinput has supported this for ages. How is this still not a thing?

Okay, #Argon40's #ArgonOneUP looks cool...

My problem is that it's on kickstarter and closed and not available from Argon40 or any of their #distributors and #pricing info is rather hazy, with some sites suggesting it to be around U$D 400-ish.

Thanks to @geerlingguy for looking into it, even tho I wished there would've been just like a @frameworkcomputer - Style #Mainboard to shove a #CM5 into a #Framework13 or #Framework12 but alas, that's not it.

Musste für Cyberpunk 2077 in der Auflösung auf SXGA runter gehen, damit die iGPU ausreichend stabile 60fps geliefert bekommt.

Dass da auf einmal 1280x1024 steht hat einfach nur albern starke retro Vibes.

@fedora Sadly, #Lenovo wronged me as a professional when they refused to support their "#UbuntuCertified" #ThinkPad #P15v's #WWAN module ( #Fibocom #850GL, based on #Intel's #XMM7360 baseband).

  • And that was a €3,5k+ professional device!

Add to that the discontinuation of any #wired - #USB "ThinkPad Compact Keyboard with #UltraNav" and the only reason I've not retired my #X230Tablet for a @frameworkcomputer / #Framework13 or god forbid some #DIY abomination is my belief in #UseLonger!

Whoa. First new personal computer hardware in a long while and it shows. #darktable is _very_ fast on the new framework 13. Enabled opencl via rocm and did have some weird behavior last night, but I've yet to reproduce.

I may actually get through my backlog of edits one of these days :)
