Saddened to hear that the Amazon show “Peripheral” has been cancelled after one season despite being initially renewed for a second season. It is still worth watching. Great science fiction with a different take on time travel and alternate realities. I used to refuse to watch new series unless they made it into a second season. But now, with streamers looking at who is watching, I now watch first seasons. But too often disappointed by idiotic cancellations #peripheral

#Peripheral has a good premise and the filming is great (drones and all that) but something is lacking in the storytelling. Maybe the pacing. Maybe too many characters, with confusing motivations.

Started the binge watch of #ThePeripheral last night; three episodes down, five to go. I've read the book so was looking forward to this, and I like what I see so far even if the London-based storyline seems to have taken a lot of liberties with the #WiliamGibson plot (to say the least). But, it looks fabulous, has decent pacing, is really fleshing out the characters, and it's #SciFi so I'm always going to be happy about that anyway.
But that eye scene in episode one... urgh.

Serientipp: Wer #SciFi und Mystery/Cyberpunk mag, schaut euch Peripherie/The #Peripheral auf Prime Video an! Mich hat's total geflasht. Ist die Verfilmung des 1. Teils von William Gibsons Jackpot-Trilogie. Habe die Romane (noch) nicht gelesen, aber die Handlung um Zeitreisen, Paralellwelten, Umweltzerstörung, Videopiele und technische Erweiterung des menschlichen Körpers finde ich grad mega spannend und verstörend und die (mir) relativ unbekannten Schauspieler sind auch gut.

What *does* have my attention is #Andor and The #Peripheral, in that order. I'm going through Peripheral now, and I would love to ask William Gibson why he returned to his roots *now*. He grew up in Virginia before deciding to go to school in Canada to preemptively avoid the draft. That's how he ended up in #Vancouver, where I am.
